The new Moana feature highlights cultural inspiration

Walt Disney Animation Studios' Moana is now barreling towards its U.S. release date of November 23rd and, based on early critics' reviews, looks to be another big hit for the studio.

Disney's newest promo for the film is a featurette that recounts the Polynesian cultural history behind the story.

Moana is set on a mystic Polynesian island. The film's directors, Ron Clements and John Musker, and other Walt Disney Animation Studios personnel, visited the Pacific Islands for research.

The featurette includes plenty of landscapes, watercraft, food, and music that seems to be directly included in the final film.

Disney has also released a new clip from Moana film that features original song 'We Know the Way', written and performed by Opetaia Foa'i and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
