Sony releases teaser trailer for "Hotel Transylvania 2"
Sony Pictures Animation has released a teaser trailer for Hotel Transylvania 2, the upcoming film directed by Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky.
Hotel Transylvania 2 will feature the return of the voices of Adam Sandler as Dracula, Selena Gomez as Mavis, Steve Buscemi, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Kevin James and David Spade, with the addition of Mel Brooks as Dracula's father Vlad – not featured in the trailer – the old-fashioned vampire who raises the stakes at a monstrous family get-together. The film will be released in the U.S. on September 25, 2015.
The original Hotel Transylvania was Tartakovsky's first feature film, though not quite – by the time it stalked into his life, he was the sixth director at the helm. By his own account, he did his best to bring the looseness of Looney Tunes animation and the specific sensibility of Tex Avery to proceedings. Hotel Transylvania 2 was developed by Tartakovsky alongside Adam Sandler and Saturday Night Live scribe Robert Smigel.
Tartakovsky is currently developing two other projects at Sony: Can You Imagine- and Popeye.
