Watch the Comic-Con Preview of Mike Tyson Mysteries
Warner Bros. Animation's "The Mike Tyson Mystery," a throwback to the animated celebrity TV shows of the 1970s and 1980s, is a comedy in which the "celebrity" is a wife-beating, drug-abusing, flesh-eating, convicted rapist The film has a touch of the same story. The series, which will debut this fall on Adult Swim, was previewed at Comic-Con and a teaser is posted below.
The show attempts to faithfully capture the vintage design style of the 70s with Hanna-Barbera's eyelidless, flesh-colored eye style. Overall, the show appears to have above-average production values for Adult Swim.
Former felon crime-solving associates include Pigeon, a man turned pigeon voiced by Norm MacDonald; the ghost of the 9th Marquess of Queensbury, a real historical figure who was an early promoter of boxing (voiced by Jim Rash); and Tyson's adopted Korean daughter (white actress voiced by Rachel Ramras, adding a touch of racist caricature). The showrunner/exec producer is Hugh Davidson, who has written for "The Looney Tunes Show" and "Robot Chicken."
