42nd Annie Award Nominations Announced: List Creator:
ASIFA-Hollywood, the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Society, has announced the nominations for its 42nd annual Annie Awards. Eight films were nominated in the Best Animated Feature category. Laika's The Boxtrolls leads the pack with 13 nominations, followed by 10 nods for DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon 2, and seven apiece for Cartoon Saloon's Song of the Sea and Disney's Big Hero 6.
The animated short category also eight nominees, including five films that are currently shortlisted for an Oscar: Alan Holly's Coda, Glen Keane's Duet, Patrick Osborne's Feast, Torill Kove's Me and My Moulton?, and Robert Kondo and Dice Tsutsumi's The Dam Keeper.
Online balloting opens on January 2, 2015, and January 19 is the deadline for ballot submissions. The Annie winners will be announced at the 42nd Annual Annie Awards ceremony on January 31, 2015, at Royce Hall on the UCLA campus.
