"Bedrock," rebooted by adult "Flintstone" from "Cocaine Bear" director Elizabeth Banks, is moving forward at Fox.

It's been two years since Fox announced it was developing Bedrock, a reboot of primetime adult animation Flintstone, in which Cocaine Bear director Elizabeth Banks shepherded the project as executive producer. Now the network has ordered a pilot presentation for the project.

In addition to the Committee news, the voice cast of the show has been announced and includes Stephen Root as Fred, Amy Sedaris as Wilma, Nicole Baia as Betty, Joe Lo Turglio as Bernie, and Manny Jacinto as Bam Bam. It's a good idea. When the project was first announced, it was revealed that in addition to production, the bank will voice pebbles.

According to deadline reports, the series was picked up 20 years after the original series event, and Fred is nearing retirement when the adult pebble begins looking for her own career. Bigger changes are also underway as the Stone Age begins to give way to the Bronze Age, creating an uncomfortable situation for the series' aging protagonist.

Fox Entertainment and Warner Bros.Animation (WBA) has produced a reboot with Banks, Warner Bros. Sam Register of Animation and Max Handelman Executive Producer of Brownstone Productions. Lindsay Kerns is in charge of writing and co-executive production, while Lon Zimmet is in charge of writing and executive production.

Fox continues to support its efforts in adult animation with Bedrock joining legacy shows such as Krapopolis, Grimsburg, Housebrock, The Great North, The Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob's Burgers.

When Bedrock was announced in 2021, Michael Thorn, President of Fox Entertainment, said:

Long before The Simpsons and Springfield, The Griffins and Quahog, or even when The Belchers started serving burgers on Ocean Avenue, there were Flintstones and Bedrock. Their imprint on the world of animation is undeniable, and the idea of adapting it for today's audiences is a challenge we're very much looking forward to taking with Warner Bros., Elizabeth and Lindsay here on Fox. Really, there is no pressure.
