Justin Royland dropped out of Hulu's "The Opposite of the Sun", "Koalaman".

Hulu dropped executive producer, writer and voice actor Justin Royland from the animated series "Solar Opposites" and "Koala Man" in the wake of accusations of domestic violence.

"We have ended our relationship with Justin Royland," Hulu and producer 20Th TV Animation said in a statement.

2 Disney-owned companies published their decision a day after it was announced that Warner Bros. Discovery's Adult Swim had dropped Rick and Morty's co-creators from its show. Roiland also stepped down as CEO of High Online Life developer Squanch Games, a company he co-founded on Wednesday.

As in the case of Adult Swim with Rick and Morty, Hulu intends to continue both Solar Opposites and Koala Man without Roiland. His involvement in all 3 shows was significant, and without him there was no lack of speculation about how the series would change. Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites, and Koala Man are all produced by Roiland's production company, Solo Vanity Card Productions.

Royland co-created the sci-fi family sitcom Solar Opposition with Mike McMahan and voiced one of its protagonists in addition to executive production and writing for the show. Season 4 of the show was due to hit Hulu this year, and Season 5 was already lit green. So far, no changes to that timetable have been announced. Roiland was an executive producer and had a one-episode voice acting role in the Koalaman, which premiered on May 9 this year.

Royland is charged with felony counts of household battery with bodily injury and felony counts of false imprisonment by threat, violence, fraud, and/or deception. The alleged incident occurred in 2020/1 against unnamed Jane Doo, whom Roiland was dating at the time. Royland's lawyers claim that his client is innocent.

Royland is scheduled to return to court for another hearing on 4/27. If convicted, he faces multiple years in prison.
