Despite the sharp decline, animation again surpassed French TV exports in 2021.

France's National Center for Film and Video (CNC) and Uni・France released their annual report on French TV program exports on Monday, proving that animation is once again the strongest audiovisual product abroad.

Despite recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic, French exporters increased by 6% from 2020, with a record total of 3 billion 7590 million euros (ド37331 million) in 2021. That amount included 1 billion 150 million euros (ー1780 million) in international pre-sales, a record high. Foreign investment was similarly bullish, with international co-production investment hitting its highest level since 2003.
