European projects that impressed Annecy: "Oji", "Inventor", "Greetings from the Apocalypse".

After two years of mostly online festivals, Annecy is back with a lineup of the most crowded projects we've ever seen.

Here we take a closer look at 3, technically 4, European projects that have caught our eye from the crowded field.

Ozi, closest to completion, is expected to appear in theaters later this year. Tim Harper is directing an independent funded feature following the adventures of a young "influencer" orangutan named Oji as he recruits friends to travel through the environment-ravaged rainforest in search of primate parents. With the support of Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way Productions and Oscar-winning producer Mike Medavoy, the film aims to raise awareness about the problems facing the world's rainforests as they face increased deforestation. And how the problem directly affects the ecosystem in it.

Produced by GCI Films, Mikros Animation handles creative development from concept to delivery for full cgi functionality. The film's voice cast includes Amandla Stenberg, Laura Dern, Rupaul, Donald Sutherland and Jimon Hun・soo as the old man.

Annecy's presentation of the film will be led by Executive producers/writers Rodrigo Blaas (Trollhunters, Alma) and Harper, and will be led by story/character animation/writer Sean Mullen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, writer and director Sean Mullen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art Director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art director Stephane Daegelen, production designer/art director Stephane Daegelen, The project was led by Nathalie Masseret, production supervisor, Anne-Sophie Palermo, synthesis supervisor, and Manuel Souillac, cg Supervisor/vfx Supervisor.

Featured during the sold-out Annecy Work-in-Progress session, The Inventor was joined by Disney and Pixar veterans Jim Capobianco (who was nominated for an Oscar for his Ratatouille screenplay) and Pierre Luc Grange (Poppetti in the Fall, the White Wolf). It is the latest project of the project. Using a doll that inspires instant nostalgia for the classic Rankin / bus holiday stop-motion fare, the feature, in France in the years after his departure from Italy, the inventor finds greater freedom to experiment with his timeless invention and the company of the bold Princess Marguerite.

The voice cast of the film includes Stephen Fry, Daisy Ridley, Marion Cotillard and Matt Berry. Produced by Curiosity Studio and Foliascope, MK2 is responsible for international sales and Kmbo sells in France. They are now looking for overseas distributors and broadcasters.

Well, maybe it's cheating to pick a studio, but we combine two series thrown by passion photography as one project for this article

Greetings from the Apocalypse

First, greetings from the Apocalypse means that a fugitive freedom fighter is expelled to avoid capture by a group of violent bandits. It's an 8-episode adventure series set in a dystopian wasteland where you partner with a bounty hunter who has been kidnapped. The series is cg, features a 2d aesthetic of graphics, and is intended for YA and adult audiences. Wild Love directors Marika Rhodet and Quentin Camus are re-teaming up to direct a series written by Summer Preah and produced in connection with Entertainment 360.

Love

Anna Mantzaris (but Milk is important and well-intentioned) directs this three-part puppet series that features several stories unspool in the same city. The characters explore their desires, often looking for partners with unconventional relationships or shared sexual twists, to examine the meaning of being loved and loved in the modern world. The show is a UK-Swedish co-production and is currently looking for broadcasters, distributors, producers/co-producers and screenwriters.
