Last Resort Nickelodeon is developing a 95-year-old creator's program.

Who knows what young adolescents like more these days than 95 year olds - that's the latest thinking from Nickelodeon Animation. [Another bonus is that no amount of inappropriate behavior by 95 year olds will match the heinous sexual perversion and harassment of the network's younger creators.

The older man in question is Norman Lear, who developed such classic sitcoms as All in the Family, Sanford and Son, and The Jeffersons. With producing partner Brent Miller, he has given Nickelodeon what is being called "The Norman Lear Project: Man of the House" (tentative title).

The show is about Jose, an 11-year-old boy who tries to form a hip-hop group with his downstairs neighbor Wilbur while helping his mother Maria take care of his two younger siblings, Maria Juliana (Maj) and Diego.

The creative concept will be developed by Colombian-American writer and illustrator Michael Molina ("Trivia Night"). Nick's executive overseeing development will be Claudia Spinelli, who has been promoted from her current position as Vice President of Series to the newly created position of Vice President of Animation Development.

"Norman has long told stories about families, parents, and children. It is exciting that he and his producing partners, Brent and Michael, want to tell this story to today's generation of Nick's children," said Chris Viscardi, senior vice president of Nickelodeon Animation. [Leah and Miller are executive producing through ACT III Productions, Leah's company that has produced films such as "Stand by Me," "The Princess Bride," and "Fried Green Tomatoes."
