April 2022, animation on Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Apple TV+, etc.

New animated releases on streaming platforms remain scarce this month, but there are some old favorites that are gathering dust for viewers to play with.

Topping the list of April premieres is Richard Linklater's Apollo 10 1/2: Children of the Space Age. Netflix will also premiere the second season of its "Ultraman" reboot on April 14, and will close out the month with "Samurai Rabbit: The Rabbit Chronicles" on April 28.

Disney's animated titles include Bow-Toons: "Party Palace Pals" on April 6 and "Scrat Tales" on April 13, but what we are most looking forward to are the various Disney animation artists teaching viewers how to draw Sketchbook," a documentary series in which various Disney Animation artists teach viewers how to draw. The show will premiere on April 27.

HBO Max will host the U.S. premiere of Dodo, acquired by Warnermedia from Bristol, England-based Wildseed Studios. Our guide only lists announcements made by streamers at the beginning of the month, but we try to update our schedule with mid-month announcements whenever possible. If you have a U.S. streaming service you would like to see added to our lineup, please leave a comment below.
