Watch 20 Oscar-nominated animated short films online for free

Earlier this month, we exclusively reported that 96 animated short films made the cut for this year's Academy Awards. This may be a record.

As usual, some of the qualifying films are available online for free. They are listed below. Note: The availability of these shorts is subject to change at any time, and it is possible that films not currently on the list may appear online.

This list does not include films available online via streaming. This includes Disney-Pixar's Out, Loop, Wind, Float, and Burrow, as well as Maggie Simpson in Playdate with Destiny, available on Disney+: Canvas, Cops and Robbers, and If Anything Happens I Love You": and "Notes for Living on Planet Earth" on Apple TV+.

Preliminary voting for the Oscars will take place next week, and the shortlist for this category will be announced on February 9. Nominations will be announced on March 15, and the awards ceremony will take place on April 25.
