5 Notable Anime to be Added to Streaming Platforms in March 2024

With February having one more day than usual this year, you'll have to wait a little longer than usual to enjoy the streaming animations that will be added in March. So here are five big titles that will be streaming in the coming weeks.

Platform Peacock

Release Date: March 1

It's been 14 years since DreamWorks Animation released the villain-turned-superhero movie "Megamind." Now the studio is bringing back the sequel and related animated series straight to streaming with the 83-minute feature "Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate," directed by Eric Vogel, creator of MTV's "Celebrity Deathmatch" and "The Head." Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simmons, who wrote the screenplay for the original film, will work with Fogel on the new film and the 8×22-minute series, Megamind Rules! and will serve as executive producers of the new film.

Platform Max

Release Date: March 1

We usually try to focus on new series and movies on this list, but there is a trend here that Max showed and we thought was worth acknowledging. When Warner Bros. removed more than 250 Looney Tunes theatrical shorts from its streaming service last year, it was unclear how or when viewers would be able to access them again. Now it appears that Looney Tunes catalog content will appear on Max on a cyclical basis, with more than 130 shorts coming to the platform in March. This is good news, because it means that the Looney Tunes catalog is now available on Max. The bad news is that the 130 shorts currently available on Max will be removed at the same time, and among the titles that will reappear on Max are Academy Award-nominated titles such as "Mouse Wreckers," "Greetings Bait," and "Rhapsody in Rivets. Based on Fox's cult-favorite 1990s animated series, this 10-episode series begins where the previous film left off, in a world where mutants use their supernatural powers to protect those who fear and often despise them. From the first trailer for the series, it looks like the animators have stayed mostly true to the original aesthetic, and fans will be pleased to hear that many of the voice actors from the 1990s version have returned for this reboot. episodes of X-Men '97, "The Wrath of the Superhumans" Jake Castorena, Chase Conley of "Keepo and the Mysterious Beasts," and Emi Yonemura of "Gen: Lock."

Platform Disney+

Release date: March 20

Morphle and the Magic Pets is co-developed by Mark Palmer and Jill Sanford, with animation production by Toronto's Guru Studio. The show is based on the hit Youtube franchise created by Arthur van Merwijk in 2011 and acquired by Moonbug in the U.K. in 2018.Morphle TV's Youtube channel, launched in December 2011, has 1, 1.7 million subscribers and its videos have been viewed over 8 billion times.

Platform Netflix

Release date: March 22

Based on Nickelodeon's Daytime Emmy Award-winning kids and family series The Casagrandes (a spin-off from The Loud House and a 2D feature film directed by Miguel Puga, who directed both shows. In this adaptation, the Santiago family takes a surprise trip to Mexico, where things quickly get out of control when Ronnie Ann confronts a pre-teen demigod with the power to destroy the world. Nickelodeon and Netflix have had a fruitful relationship over the past few years. Nickelodeon's live-action adaptation of Avatar the Last Airbender was the most-watched series last week. If "The Casagrandez Movie" does well, it would not be surprising to see other Netflix productions adapted into feature films.
