Cartoon Network will order the "Summer Camp Island" series by Julia Pott.

Julia Pott, first mentioned on the site 8 years ago, is getting her own cartoon network series, Summer Camp Island.

This series is based on the pilot of the same name that Pot created for Cartoon Network. The pilot started screening at the festival Circuit last year and most recently participated in a competition at Sundance. Summer Camp Island follows Oscar and his best friend hedgehog who attend a magical summer camp. They "navigate the mysteries and wonders of a magical camp where the camp counselor is a witch, the horse becomes a unicorn and the monsters live under the bed," their adventures include meeting a talking shark in a swimming pool and making friends with the moon.

"Summer Camp Island is a good example of the kind of creativity generated by our acclaimed Studio Shorts program," says Rob Sawcher, Chief Content Officer at Cartoon Network. "We all want to spend the summer in this timeless magical world, captured by Julia's characteristic warmth and originality."

Cartoon Network Studio has produced Summer Camp Island, which is due to debut in 2018. They do not indicate how many episodes there are in the first season.
