Annecy will present a line-up of short films for 2024.

We are entering the Awards season and are looking forward to the 2024 Festival circuit.Annecy, the oldest and most important animation festival in the world, has announced a short film to compete in the event, which will be held on May 6 of this year.

Established figures included among the ranks of competing filmmakers of the year include three-time Oscar nominee/one-time winner Trill Cov in her latest short film Maybe Elephants, Annecy 2021 Jury Award winner Florence Miailhe in Papillon, and 2021 Jury Award winner Nicola Kepens in Beautiful Men.

France leads this year's geographically diverse major competition areas with 10 films selected, and Canada is second with half a dozen titles. Several countries contributed 2 films to the field this year, including the United States, Japan, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Poland, Iran and Portugal. Perhaps surprisingly, the UK only has 1 film in the main short competition. Annecy will announce a lineup of graduation films, tv films and commissioned films at the end of the 3rd month, a vr competition at the end of the 4th month and a feature film competition at the end of the 4th month. This year's Annecy Awards ceremony will take place on 6/15.
