Watch: First Extended Footage of "Animaniacs

This afternoon at a virtual panel at New York Comic-Con, Warner Bros. Animation unveiled for the first time the animation for the reboot "Animaniacs."

The footage shown is a 90-second cold opening from the first episode, featuring caricatures of the cast, a riff on "Jurassic Park," and director Steven Spielberg, who is also executive producer of Animaniacs. Footage begins at 18:40:

Last week we took a closer look at how the look of "Animaniacs" evolved for the new series, and the subtle design tweaks the artists made while keeping the feel of the original show. From this video, it appears that the characters and animation remain true to the original productions.

The series has been ordered for two seasons, for a total of 26 episodes. New episodes will begin November 20 on Hulu. [The showrunners of the new series are Wellesley Wilde (executive producer) and Gabe Swarr (co-executive producer). In addition, Steven Spielberg returns as executive producer of the series, with Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series; Justin Falvey, co-president of Amblin Television and Daryl Frank will also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Amblin Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Animation.
