Chris Sanders and crew preview "Wild Robot" footage in Annecy

It's only April, but DreamWorks Animation has already released two films this year. The direct-to-streaming title "Orion and the Battle of Darkness" and the worldwide blockbuster "Kung Fu Panda 4," which has grossed close to $500 million worldwide.

But it's not over yet. The studio's fall title of note is "Wild Robots," from three-time Oscar-nominated director Chris Sanders ("Lilo and Stitch," "How to Train Your Dragon").

DreamWorks announced today that it will preview new footage from the film at the Annecy Animation Festival.

On Tuesday morning, June 11, Sanders will unveil the footage and discuss his aesthetically ambitious vision of bringing paintings to life. That evening, a panel titled "Designing the World of 'Wild Robot'" will feature production designer Raymond Zivac, head of story Heidi Jo Gilbert, head of character animation Jacob Hjort Jensen, visual effects super Five of the film's creative leaders will be on stage: Jeff Budsberg, visor, and Baptiste Van Opstal, head of look.

Other events related to the film will include an outdoor screening of "How to Train Your Dragon" by Chris Sanders and an autograph session with the director.

"Wild Robot," adapted from Peter Brown's best-selling picture book of the same name, will open in the United States on September 27. The first trailer for the film, which was released last month, can be seen at:
