Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Look at the 2D Animation and Puppets for "Ask the Video Storybots

Cartoon Brew spoke with Jibjab co-founder Evan Spiridellis yesterday about Ask the Storybots, the rule-breaking preschool series the studio produced for Netflix.

Today we bring you two exclusive videos that go even deeper behind the scenes of the series' production.

In the first video, "Ask the Storybots" animation director Jeff Gill and production designer Nicholas Illich discuss how they gave the show's main characters distinct personalities and characteristics. (Illich participated in Cartoon Brew's 2011 Student Animation Festival with his student film "Sheared.")

The second video explores the creation of a hilarious sequence from the episode "Why Is the Sky Blue-" in which the Storybots try to get answers from a tortured artist. Production team members Aron Bosman and Megan McShane explain how they created the puppets and set:
