African Streaming Company Showmax Releases Trailer for First 2D Animation "Twende"

Showmax, the Pan-African SVOD platform, has released the trailer for the new series "Twende," the first Showmax original 2D animation. The series' producers tout it as "the first 2D animated show of this scale and quality, produced almost exclusively in Africa." [Twende's pilot episode was in competition at Annecy in 2021, and now Showmax's parent company, Multichoice Studios, is bringing the finished series to Mipcom in an attempt to sell it to international distributors outside Africa. Twende will be released on December 4 in all Showmax locations throughout Africa.

The trailer is excellent and the show's sense of humor shines through; targeted at ages 6-11, Twende looks like a series that parents will enjoy watching with their children.
