Amazon's Adult Animated Series "Undone" Impresses with New Trailer

Groundbreaking animation projects sometimes come from the most unexpected places. Last year, Sony Pictures Animation broke the rules of CG animation with "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Now, Amazon Prime seems ready to shake up the animated series with "Undone," from "Bojack Horseman" creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg and "Bojack" writer Kate Purdy.

Amazon released the full series trailer for "Undone" this weekend and announced that the series will debut on September 13. They say all eight episodes will be available on that date.

Undone's fresh look - a combination of painterly rotoscoping and backgrounds that look like actual oil paintings - has never been seen before in series animation, proving that if producers are willing to take risks, series animation has plenty of room for new techniques and It proves that there is a lot of room for new techniques and approaches in series animation if producers are willing to take risks. The look of the show was developed by Dutch filmmaker Hisko Halsing ("Junkyard," animated sequence for "Montage of Heck"), who also directed the series.

The story follows 28-year-old Alma (Rosa Salazar) in San Antonio, Texas, who discovers a new relationship with time after a near-death car accident. She learns to harness this new ability in order to discover the truth behind her father's (Bob Odenkirk) death.

The series was produced by Amsterdam-based Submarine and Austin, Texas-based Minnow Mountain. Michael Eisner's Tornante Productions and Amazon Studios produced the series. Bob-Waksberg and Purdy are executive producers, along with Noel Bright, Steven A. Cohen, and Tommy Pallotta.

In addition to Salazar and Odenkirk, the film features the voices of Angelique Cabral, Constance Marie, Siddharth Dananjay, and Dave Diggs, with guest appearances by John Corbett, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Sheila Vand, and Tyler Posey.
