Unity to Present Unity Weta Tools Division at SIGGRAPH 2023

Unity, the technology company whose real-time game engine powers countless video games, mobile games, and increasingly frequent VFX and animation production, announced that it will debut its new Unity Weta Tools division at SIGGRAPH 2023

Unity is a technology company with a real-time game engine that powers VFX and animation production.

Unity announced that it will acquire Weta Digital's tools, pipeline, technology, and workforce for the first time in 2021.This new division of Unity aims to provide solutions for artists to collaborate and create 2D and CG content.

At SIGGRAPH, representatives will host a keynote session to showcase the latest additions and changes to what the company offers creators. The company will demonstrate how creators can use its toolset to address creative briefs in all design languages for animation and games. some of the tools that will be on display at SIGGRAPH will promote smoother collaboration and faster Syncsketch, which provides real-time and asynchronous feedback for smoother collaboration and faster iteration, and Deep Compositing and Eddy, which enable creators to achieve greater depth and detail in their production.

A representative from Unity Weta Tools will explain how Ziva Real-Time and Wig were used in the development of their new real-time digital human Samir. There will also be a discussion of the challenges involved in creating the characters for Netflix's 2022 Academy Award-nominated animated feature film "The Sea Beast" and how they were overcome using Ziva VFX.

Unity Weta Tools will also introduce participants to its Deep Composting toolset and how users can combine CG rendering, render more efficiently, reduce human error, and have more flexibility while planning scenes.
