Watch a teaser for Genndy Tartakovsky's new Adult Swim series “Primal”.

Adult Swim today released a teaser for “Primal,” a new series from “Samurai Jack” and “Dexter's Laboratory” creator Genndy Tartakovsky.

Produced by Studio La Cachette in France, the half-hour series will debut this fall. The main characters are a primitive man at the dawn of evolution and a dinosaur on the verge of extinction. This unlikely friendship, forged by tragedy, becomes the only hope for survival in a violent and primitive world.

Tartakovsky, 49, last worked with Adult Swim on “Samurai Jack,” which returned for a final season in 2017.

In recent years, Tartakovsky has spent much of his time at Sony Pictures Animation, where he directed the first three films in the Hotel Transylvania franchise. The three films have grossed $1.36 billion worldwide.

Last year, Sony Pictures Animation announced that Tartakovsky would direct two new animated films, the R-rated comedy “Fixed” and the adventure film “Black Knight.” Tartakovsky said at the time that he intended to do something unique and different and push animation to the next level. Since the initial announcement, nothing further has been revealed about these projects.
