Massive Leak of Netflix Animation Traced Back to Burbank Post-Production Company

Several Hollywood media outlets reported that a large number of Netflix animated series were leaked by Iyuno, a Burbank-based post-production company specializing in media localization.

"One of our post-production partners was compromised and footage of several of our titles was unfortunately leaked online," Netflix said in a statement. 'Our team is taking aggressive action to have it removed.'

This week, watermarked and time-stamped clips from a number of upcoming Netflix titles, including "Terminator Zero," "Gentry Chow vs. the Underworld," "Dan Da Dan," "Ranma 1/2" and the second season of "Arkane," as well as full episodes were both leaked.

Also leaked were upcoming Netflix feature films such as Skydance Animation's "Spellbound" and Paramount Animation's "Plankton: The Movie." Other distributors were also affected by the leaks: the Season 3 premiere of Re: Zero, which will be released on Re: Crunchyroll, and the first three episodes of Dan Da Dan, which GKIDS plans to release in theaters, also appeared online.

Iyono, the localization company that initiated the leak, is certified by Netflix as a "Preferred Fulfillment Partner." With 67 offices in 34 countries, the company subtitles 35 million minutes of content in over 100 languages and provides 10 million minutes of dubbed content in more than 100 languages.

The company issued the following statement today acknowledging this situation:

IUNO is aware of recent security issues involving unauthorized access to sensitive content. Protecting the confidentiality of our customers and ensuring the security of their content is our highest priority. We are actively investigating this security breach to mitigate potential risks and identify those responsible. We will notify you of any material changes or information.
