Just 19 days after its theatrical release, “Wild Robot” is now available digitally

Universal released DreamWorks Animation's “Wild Robot” on digital platforms on Tuesday, just 19 days after its theatrical release.

The quick turnaround in the digital release schedule is particularly surprising considering that “Wild Robot” was a box office hit, ranking second at the U.S. box office last weekend. For comparison, DreamWorks Animation's last theatrical feature film, “Kung Fu Panda 4,” opened in theaters earlier this year on March 8 and was not released digitally until May 28, more than 11 weeks after its theatrical release.

The critically acclaimed film, a key contender for year-end film awards, is available on a variety of platforms including Apple TV, Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu), Comcast Xfinity, Cox Microsoft Movies & TV, Movies Anywhere It is available for both rental and ownership. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment also announced that the film will be available on physical media (4K UHD and Blu-ray) on December 3.
