Amazon MGM Studios acquires “Bob the Builder” feature set in Puerto Rico

Amazon MGM Studios appears to have come out on top in the bidding war for the Latin feature film adaptation of the children's television series Bob the Builder. Mattel Films, Shadow Machine, Jennifer Lopez's Nuyorican Productions, and actor/producer Anthony Ramos are all involved in the project.

Other companies that tried to get their hands on spicy Roberto were Netflix and Dreamworks Animation, according to Deadline.

We first reported on the project last January, but details of the film have not changed. It is unclear whether Amazon will release the film theatrically or stream it directly, but for the record, Mattel initially announced the project as a theatrical release.
