Canadian Screen Awards 2022: All Animation Nominees

The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television have announced their 2022 Canadian Screen Award nominations, which celebrate Canadian productions across cinema, television, and digital media.

As usual, the National Film Board of Canada has multiple nominees in the shorts category: Flowing Home, Meneath: The Hidden Island of Ethics, and The Hangman at Home, which was also conceived as a vr project. Angakusajaujuq: The Shaman's Apprentice, which like Flowing Home was shortlisted for the Oscar, and Boobs round out the list.

Animated features don't have an award, but there are plenty of animation categories on the series side. CTV Comedy Channel's Corner Gas Animated, a regular at the Canadian Screen Awards, leads the pack with eight nominations - including, somewhat absurdly, four out of five for Best Performance. Global mega-franchise Paw Patrol, which is produced in Canada by Spin Master Entertainment and Guru Studio, comes next with four nominations.

The Canadian Screen Awards encompass a huge number of categories, only some of which cover animation, vfx, and gaming. The awards will be presented over six days in early April, culminating with the main ceremony on April 10; the animation categories will be announced on April 6.

The nominees in animation, vfx, and gaming are listed below:
