When Sony Pictures Animation released "Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs" in 2009, it was praised for its cartoon sensibility and stylized animation.

Cartoon Network released a lengthy clip from "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs": in it, Flint shows off a new invention he created for taking out the trash:

Set to debut next year, Vancouver, Canada-based DHX Media is using Toon Boom Harmony to produce 26 half-hour shows. Commissioned by Canadian broadcaster Teletoon, CN will air the series in the U.S., while its sister channel, Boomerang, will air the series in EMEA, APAC, and Latin American territories.

The show is a prequel to the movie, before food falls from the sky. In it, teenager Flint Lockwood is an aspiring scientist/inventor and his best friend Sam Sparks is the new girl in town and an aspiring school reporter.

Key characters from the original film also appear in the series, including Flint's father Tim, Steve the monkey, Mayor Shelbourne, teenage baby clothes model Brent, Earl, a gym teacher who is not yet a cop, and Manny, who runs the school's audio-visual department.
