Watch Little Witch Academia Trailer on Netflix

Japanese studio Trigger has released a trailer for its Little Witch Academia series, which will begin airing on Netflix in early 2017:

Created by Yoh Yoshinari as a short film in 2013, Little Witch Academia is a Harry Potter-style story about a young witch It tells the story of a young girl, Akko Kagari, who enrolls in a school for young witches. Director Yoshinari made this short film as part of the Japanese government-funded "Young Animator Development Project.

The success of Little Witch Academia inspired a second short film, Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade, which raised over $625,000 through a Kickstarter campaign, more than four times its original goal. It raised more than $625,000, more than four times its original goal, on Kickstarter.

The series, which will be directed by creator Yoshinari, will consist of 30-minute episodes, but details on how many episodes will be in the first season and in which regions Netflix will air the series have yet to be revealed.
