Netflix's "Lost Ollie" and Disney's "Moon Girl and the Dinosaur Devil" win grand awards at the Children & Family Emmy Awards

The 2023 Children & Family Emmy Awards were announced over the weekend, and Netflix's hybrid series "Lost Ollie" won five awards, tied with "Sesame Street" for the most.

Lost Ollie's awards came from categories specific to live action programming, including Best Director for a Single-Camera Live Action Program (Peter Ramsey), Best Music Director and Composer for a Live Action Program, Best Editing for a Single-Camera Live Action Program, Best Lighting, Camera and Technical Art, and Best Visual Effects for a Live Action Program. Most of the awards were. Industrial Light and Magic, Inc. was responsible for the photorealistic animation of this special program.

Lost Ollie was not the only Netflix production to win multiple awards; Netflix's preschool series StoryBots: Answer Time won two awards, for best animated preschool series and best script for an animated preschool series.

The series "Moongirls & Devil Dinosaurs," produced by Disney and Marvel in collaboration with Australian animation studio Flying Bark Productions, also had a big weekend, winning Best Special Animation, Best Voice-Over Director, Best Main Title and Best Animated Program. It won four awards, including Best Casting. In addition, Kaz Aizawa received an individual award in the animation category for his work on the show.

Disney's "Baymax! and "Star Wars: The Adventures of the Young Jedi" each won two awards. Baymax! won for Best Writing for an Animated Children's or Young Teen Program and Best Editing for an Animated Program, while "Young Jedi Adventures" won for Best Editing for a Preschool Animated Program and Best Sound Mixing and Editing for a Preschool Animated Program.

Voice actor Peter Cullen received this year's Lifetime Achievement Award. Cullen is best known for his longtime work as the voice of Optimus Prime in the animated and live-action Transformers films and his longtime work as Eeyore in Disney's Winnie the Pooh series and specials.
