2020 Primetime Emmy Award Winners: 'Rick & Morty' and 'Forky Ask a Question' Win; 'Bojack Horseman' Not Selected

The 2020 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, held over five nights this week, concluded tonight.

The award for Best Animated Program went to Adult Swim's Rick and Morty's "The Vat of Acid Episode." Created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, the series beat out "Big Mouth," "Bob's Burgers," "Bojack Horseman," and "The Simpsons." it was the show's second Emmy win after its first Emmy in 2018.

"Bojack Horseman" ended its six-season run on Netflix earlier this year, so tonight's nomination was the show's last chance to win an Emmy. The show has won numerous other awards, including four Critics' Choice Television Awards, three Annie Awards, and two Writers Guild of America Awards, but has gone off the air without winning an Emmy.

Will Arnett, who voices the main character in the Netflix series, had this to say about Bojack's loss at tonight's Emmy Awards:

Bojack Horseman has never won an Emmy: ...... And I think that's kinda perfect.
