Sony Pictures Imageworks Promotes Michelle Grady to Studio President

Michelle Grady has been promoted to president of Sony Pictures Imageworks and will work out of the company's Vancouver office. News of the appointment was announced by Deadline.

Grady has been with Imageworks for seven years and most recently worked on the studio's box office hit sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Other films the studio has produced during her tenure as an executive include Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, the Academy Award-nominated Mitchell vs. the Machines, Kaiju, an episode of Love, Death and Robots, and a Marvel superhero film There are.

In addition to his role at Sony, Grady is the current president of the Animation & VFX Alliance of British Columbia, vice president of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of BC, and a member of Creative BC's executive committee.

A veteran of over 20 years in VFX and post-production, Grady previously headed the film department at MPC, where he worked on Suicide Squad, Godzilla Godzilla, Maleficent, and Life of Pi. Prior to that, he was vice president and general manager of Technicolor, overseeing the 35mm film lab, digital post-production, and VFX departments.

Tom Rothman, chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, sent a letter to employees announcing Grady's appointment.
