A new animated series based on Max Brallier's book series, The Last Kids on Earth, is being developed by Atomic Cartoon and will debut on Netflix later this year. Currently working on Atomic, the show features voices from Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Catherine O'Hara, Keith David, Bruce Campbell, Garland Witt, Monse Hernandez and Charles Demers.

The comedy action story follows Jack Sullivan (voiced by Nick Wolfhard), a 13-year-old boy who must survive the monster apocalypse and band with other children to defeat hordes of zombies and creatures that roam their town.

Brallier will also serve as executive producer along with Scott Peterson, the showrunner/EP. Matthew Berkowitz and Jennifer Twiner McCarron are executive producers on behalf of Atomic.

Atomic Cartoons acquired the rights to The Last Kids on Earth in 2017 and Netflix ordered the series in 2018/2.

Freeform, a young adult・focused cable network owned by the Walt Disney Company, has announced the development of 2 animation projects aimed at women.

Betches is based on a multimedia brand of the same name created by a group of millennial women. The half-hour animated series will focus on the relationship between three best friends and roommates suffering from adulthood in New York City. Mille Bornes is an action comedy series based on the classic card game by Edmund Dujardin. The show will be aimed at 5-8 years old and in a 52 × 11 format, followed by a car race in which all the animals on Earth dream of winning, including the Milbornes World Championship, a group led by Fleur of rabbits.
