Bruce Lee to animate in new fantasy series "House Of Lee," to be released in 2024

Shannon Lee, daughter of Bruce Lee, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of her martial arts classic Enter the Dragon with a new animated series, House of Lee, by Bruce Lee Entertainment, Shibuya, and Emily Yang, co-founder of the platform. Announced.

The series, which will premiere next year, already has a trailer and will be released prior to the anniversary screening of Enter the Dragon next week.

The trailer was directed by Yang and storyboarded by Phuncal. Beijing-based Shockunit Studio is responsible for the animation production. Animators were Wang Ying and Zang Ya, compositing by Kim Ho and Yang, editing by Yang and Maciej Kuciara, and color grading by Maciej Kuciara.

The series is billed as an action/fantasy story in which Bruce Lee gathers dragon warriors to save the world from the forces of darkness. According to Deadline, which announced the series, the show is inspired by Bruce Lee's most oft-repeated quote: "He who does not find himself walking in darkness will never seek the light."

According to Shannon Lee, her decision to work with Shibuya came after she saw the animated short "The White Rabbit," which is available for streaming with English subtitles.

Shibuya co-founded a group of animation and VFX artists last year to fund the project through collaborations with fashion brands, music labels, media, and other companies, as well as through NFT sales; Deadline reports that the platform has already raised the funds needed to produce "House of Lee."

Shibuya's website explains its philosophy:

Our mission is to change the way films and shorts are produced. Our platform provides high-potential films with an all-in-one solution for crowdfunding, building community, and incorporating interactive storytelling elements into films and programs.

Speaking to Deadline, Shannon Lee said, "I love Emily and Shibuya's perspective. They are very creative, hardworking and skilled artists with a great brand. The fact that it all came together organically speaks to the potential of our collaboration.
