November 2022, animation available on Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Criterion Channel, HBO Max, etc.

In anticipation of this year's holiday season, streaming services will put away their jack-o'-lanterns and bring out the reindeer in November.

Santa-themed programming is in full swing, and as part of an ongoing deal with Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, "The Bad Guys" will arrive on Netflix on November 1, with The Breadwinner director Nora Toomey and Cartoon Saloon's latest film, "My Father's Dragon," will arrive on Netflix on November 11, making it the most-watched streaming release of the month.

Disney will be in full Mickey in November as streamers prepare to launch Mickey: The Story of a Mouse, which chronicles the history of Disney's iconic front mouse. Along with this special, Disney+ will release a number of Mickey series and special programs. The company will also begin distributing the Zootopia+ shorts and The Tatami Time Machine Blues, an animated film that was announced at Annecy in June and is a rarity on this platform.

Criterion will screen four prestige animated films this month as part of its focus on Sony Pictures Classics: "Paprika" by Satoshi Kon, "The Illusionist" by Sylvain Chomet, "Waltz with Bashir" by Ari Folman and "Persepolis" directed by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud. In addition, this year's Oscar-nominated Chilean short "Bestia" will also debut on the platform.

And of course, as the holidays approach, Thanksgiving and Christmas series, specials, and films will head to almost every platform in large numbers.

A few notes about the list: while this list includes new season announcements for existing shows, it does not list new episode releases for existing seasons, as some streamers deliver new episodes in batches each month. Streamers also often announce new animated releases mid-month. This guide lists only what streamers announce at the beginning of the month, but whenever possible, we try to update the schedule with any mid-month announcements. The list includes only content that will be released for the first time in the U.S. versions of these services.
