Goodbye, “Adventure Time”: Cast and Crew Gather to Bid Farewell to the Series

After 10 seasons (the final ninth season was split into two on-air seasons by Cartoon Network), “Adventure Time” officially ended its production cycle last Thursday at a big wrap party at the Hollywood club Boulevard3 The film officially announced the end of its production cycle at a big rap party at the Hollywood club Boulevard3 last Thursday.

It is not every day that a show like Adventure Time is the type of show that changes and expands the possibilities of the animation industry.

Looking at the series in the context of everything else currently being produced in Los Angeles, it is easy to overlook how groundbreaking a concept “Adventure Time” was when Penn Ward first produced the pilot in 2006.

The show continued to surprise even after production began, creating an intricate web of detail and an unusually sophisticated perspective for an animated children's script. The production also broke the mold, with Ward assembling a diverse staff, drawing artists from the world of indie comics, and expanding the field of work to include female artists appearing on the show.

Wrap Party put an end to a project that had been announced as finished over a year earlier. The cast and crew of the production were invited to a grand Adventure Time-themed event that included a DJ booth in the shape of Finn and Jake's treefort, a candy room, and ice sculptures. Inspirational speeches were given throughout the evening, including one by Ward's mother. [The legacy of Adventure Time will live on for many years to come, influencing and inspiring not only the work created by Cartoon Network artists, but many other shows and artists as well.
