European Film Awards 2022: 5 Animated Feature Films and 3 Short Films Nominated

The European Film Academy has announced the nominees for this year's 35th European Film Awards in the categories of animated feature and short films.

Five films were nominated this year, tying last year's record for the most nominations in the Best Animated Feature Film category at the European Film Awards. As expected, French producers and filmmakers are represented in the category, with four of the five nominated films having French co-producers. [Little Nicholas] premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was screened in Competition at the Annecy International Film Festival, where it won the Crystal Award for Best Feature Film. The film, which uses a technique similar to Chinese ink painting, was highly acclaimed at this year's festival.

But “Little Nicholas” was not the only film to impress at this year's Annecy Film Festival. Bauman's My Love Affair with Marriage won the Jury Prize at Annecy after premiering at Tribeca in June. The film recently won Best Feature at the Viborg Animation Festival and Best Director at the Woodstock Film Festival.
