Ice Bear of “We Bare Bears” Responds to White Supremacist Hate Riots

The We Bare Bears artist took to Twitter tonight to share her views on the white supremacist and neo-Nazi riots that have been taking place in Charlottesville, Virginia for several days.

Louie Zong, a board artist for the Cartoon Network series, posted a short line animation of We Bare Bears star Ice Bear beating up a neo-Nazi with a torch, much like the recent riots in Virginia He titled the tweet, “I'm not a fan of the ‘nazi’ movement. He titled the tweet, “Oops, my hand slipped.” The tweet was deleted for reasons not identified by Zorn, but the animation can still be seen below:

Zorn's short animation received a positive response on Twitter, with over 1,900 retweets and 4,800 likes in the 3.5 hours since it was posted online. in the three and a half hours since it was posted online. The animation also elicited this one-word response from the show's creator, Daniel Chong:

Chong himself, in his position as series creator has used his position as series creator to speak out on social issues to which he feels personally connected. Following the election of Donald Trump last November, he issued a statement on Twitter explaining that the series has an allegorical background about being a minority in America and is rooted in his personal experience as an Asian American.

“We Bare Bears” is currently in the midst of its third season on Cartoon Network.
