Chilean Studio Pancrobot Releases Teaser for Feature Film “Brave Cat”

Santiago, Chile-based Pancrobot, winner of the 2016 Academy Award for its animated short “Bear Story,” has released a teaser for its first feature film, “Brave Cat.”

Since winning the Academy Award, the studio has produced a variety of high-profile films, including the Latin American feature “Nahuel and the Magic Book” and the “In the Stars” episode of “Star Wars: Visions.”

A new CG film currently in production follows Kona, a teenage forest cat who confronts her fears and decides to search for her missing mother, who was kidnapped by a circus long ago. She sets out on a journey to find her family, along with Colin, an abandoned guard dog puppy, and Bernard, an old circus bear who ran away from home.

Directed by Gabriel Osorio (Bear Story). He is also one of the co-founders of Punk Robot along with Antonia Herrera, Mari Soto-Aguilar, and Pato Escala. [Brave Cat is not a sequel to Bear Story. In a way, it is a successor to 'Bear Story,'” Osorio told Variety. Whereas 'Bear Story' was a story from the perspective of an outcast, 'Brave Cat' is the story of someone searching for a missing loved one.” [...] [...] [...] [...] [...]
