24 Hours of Animated Content Announces Global 2023 Winners

24 Hours: Cash prizes were awarded to teams from schools around the world that produced a 30-second animated film within 24 hours.

Now in its 21st year, 24 Hours is led by Aubrey Mintz, animation professor at California State University, Long Beach. Teams of five from high schools and universities around the world are invited to participate. This year's prompt is:

Within 24 hours, produce a 30-second film that demonstrates the potential of animated filmmaking. This is a call to arms! A celebration! A love letter to animation! Show us that the essence of animation has characteristics that can be explored in ways no other medium can. Show us what makes animation such a powerful and creative medium, using every element it has at its disposal, from art direction to movement to unique design to subjective storytelling.

Entries will be posted weekly on the contest's Youtube channel.

The 2023 24-hour contest attracted a record 431 teams from 104 schools in 23 countries; 90 universities and 14 high schools entered, including a team from Exceptional Minds, an art school for youth and artists on the autism spectrum!
