30 Projects to be Presented at Asian Animation Summit in Korea

Thirty children's animated and mixed-media TV/web series projects have been selected for presentation at the seventh annual 2018 Asian Animation Summit (AAS), to be held November 28-30 in Seoul, South Korea.

The Asia-Pacific Animation Production Forum, similar to the Cartoon Forum in Europe, helps connect animation producers with funding and co-production partners and broadcasters.

South Korea presented seven projects, followed by Indonesia with six, Australia with five, and Malaysia with four. Other participating countries are China, New Zealand, and Thailand.

The three-day event is expected to attract approximately 250 attendees and is owned by Kidscreen, with hosting partner KOCCA (Korea), presenting partner BEKRAF (Indonesia), and supporting partners Create NSW, Screen Queensland (Australia), MDEC (Malaysia), DITP (Thailand), ASIFA China, and Wellington Animation Group (New Zealand).

According to the AAS, including series like Bluey, Bottersnikes & Gumbles, Kuu Kuu Harajuku, Wonderballs, and Balloon Barnyard, the first Approximately 50% of the projects that debuted at the four AAS events have since gone into production.
