No, this is not a snapshot of Kidrobot's latest window display, but an advance image of the upcoming short CG film, The Absence of Eddy Table. It is the result of an artistic collaboration between Canadian comic artist and illustrator Dave Cooper and Norwegian animation director René Spans.

The short film is about a protagonist lost in a mysterious forest who encounters true love and fear, and is based on the work of comic artists such as "Weasel," "Beast! and "Suckle," and is written and designed by Cooper, who is known for his comic book work. He is also the co-creator of "Pig Goat Banana Cricket," which will air on Nickelodeon. Director Rune Spans is a veteran CG artist who has worked on several Norwegian feature films, including "Troll Hunter" and "Free Jimmy."

The Absence of Eddy Table was produced with a $289,000 grant from the Norwegian Film Institute. The film is produced by Eric Vogel of Oslo-based production studio Tordenfilm AS, co-produced by Anne Bergseng, with Daniel Sappa as lead animator and Johan Leuf as CG supervisor. The film is scheduled for completion later this year.
