Crunchyroll to release Japanese hit "Hi-Q! Dumpster Battle" to be Released in the U.S.

The biggest theatrical release of 2024, the volleyball drama "Hi-Q! Dump Truck Battle" will be released worldwide through Crunchyroll, which has acquired North American and select international theatrical rights.

One of Japan's best-selling comics of the 2010s, HIQUE! manga, will be released in North American theaters on May 31 in both subtitled and English dubbed versions through Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

When the film opened in Japan in February, it became the sixth highest-grossing film in that market's history on its opening weekend and has grossed over $60 million in its home country to date.

"Dumpster Battle" is written and directed by Susumu Mitsunaka based on the original story by manga artist Haruichi Furudate. Production I.G. produced the film.
