Netflix Announces "Woodpecker," a Hybrid Movie Available April 12

Netflix has released some new images of upcoming animated feature films, but the big news shared by streamers today was that the previously unannounced hybrid feature "Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp" will debut on April 12 This was.

Netflix has yet to release many details about the film, but the streamer will feature a script by Cory Edwards, Jim Martin, and Stephen Mraz, from a script by accomplished kids' family TV director Jonathan Rosenbaum ("Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, and R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour) will direct, he said. Universal Pictures' direct-to-video label, Universal 1440 Entertainment, is producing the film.

The brief logline goes like this: "Woody, driven out of the woods, thought he had found his forever home at Camp Uhu.

The only casting detail shared so far indicates that Eric Bauza is involved, possibly as the voice of Woody, but that is not explicit in today's release.
