Inside Out 2" Releases New Trailer Today Can Riley's Return Help Pixar Reclaim Lost Box Office Revenue?

Disney and Pixar have released a new trailer for Inside Out 2, a film filled with the joys and nightmares of teenagers. The film will be released on June 14.

Pixar and its parent company, Disney, must be hoping that this sequel, directed by Kelsey Mann, will lead to a return to box office success for the famed animation studio responsible for some of the biggest hits in animation history.

After a slow start last year, "Elemental" got off to a strong start, grossing $496.4 million at the worldwide box office, not a great number by Pixar or Disney standards. Especially since the film's budget was reportedly around $200 million.

Before that, "Lightyear" was one of the biggest box office duds of 2022, and a trio of Pixar films went straight to streaming: "Soul," "Lucca," and "Turning Red. [Pixar needed a hit, and a return to the world of "Inside Out" may be exactly what Pixar's chief creative officer, Pete Docter, ordered.
