Adult Swim's “Primal” Renewed for Second Season

It was a good week for Adult Swim's dialogue-free action series Primal. Just days after the series won three Emmys, news broke that it had been renewed for a second season.

The first five episodes of the first season premiered in October 2019. The second five episodes will follow next month, premiering on Adult Swim on October 4 at 11:30 PM ET/PT. No release date has been announced for the second season, which will also consist of 10 episodes.

“Primal” was created by Genndy Tartakovsky, author of “Dexter's Laboratory” and “Samurai Jack” and director of the “Hotel Transylvania” feature film trilogy. The story is about a caveman and a dinosaur who are united by a shared trauma and team up to fend for themselves in a primitive world that has become lawless. It is a tour de force of action timing and direction.

The show won three out of five Emmy Jury Awards this year in the “Individual Achievement in Animation” category. Tartakovsky won for storyboarding, while the other two awards went to art director Scott Wills and character designer Stephen DeStefano. [...] [...] [...]
